Birthday Boy

We had a great time at Taylor's party on Saturday. Friday night he had a friend from school, Charles spend the night. We ate at Chili's and then went to Target to let Taylor pick out what we thought was going to be a bike. Instead he picked out a remote control car. Charles wasn't able to come to the pool party the next day, but Taylor had several other friends from his class and lots of family. The water was pretty cool and it was breezy, but the kids didn't care. It was really pleasant for all of the adults.

Saturday night we had dinner at Greenbrier to say good-bye to Alan's brother Seth and Tim. They are moving from Mississippi to San Franciso. A long way from home. :( We will miss you guys!

Today has been such a great lazy Sunday. We woke up to it pouring outside. Which is my favorite kind of weather when I get to stay home. I did get Darci and Hunter's closet cleaned out and some housekeeping done. I haven't felt like helping out around here at all, so I feel better that I at least did something today. Today has been a pretty good day for the pregnant lady. Alan fixed me a great breakfast this morning and I actually ate almost all of it and didn't get sick! I have my next doctor's appointment on Tuesday, so we will see how I am progressing then.

Sick of being Sick

Well, I had my official first pregnancy "meltdown" on Saturday. I just sat on the couch and cried. I was so tired of feeling nauseated all the time. I am either hungry, which makes me nauseated, or I eat something which makes me nauseated. I know or I hope that this will go away after the first trimester, but I am still so tired of feeling rotten. And when I feel rotten, everyone around me feels rotten. I have not been so easy to live with. I have been very short tempered and just plain nasty to my sweet husband. What is that saying, you hurt those you love the most? Alan is definitely getting the brunt of my bad moods. But he is taking it all in stride. I don't know if it is all in my head, but I do think that I am feeling the baby every now and then. I absolutely love that feeling. Despite all the sickness, I really love being pregnant. And I love those pregnancy books that show you what the baby looks like each week. I definitely work in the best place to be pregnant. You will not get as much sympathy and advice than you do at a child development center. I am surrounded by parents all day long. And I am very fortunate to be able to call some of the parents friends as well. The majority of the staff are parents too, so they are very supportive as well. Okay, I am feeling much better about being pregnant now!
Hunter read his first book last week. The Foot Book by Dr. Suess. He was so proud of himself! I love seeing the kids accomplish something new. Especially when they are pleased just with the accomplishment, instead of what they "get" from doing something.
Taylor has his pool party for his birthday on Saturday, so I am sure I will have lots of pictures to share.

Party, Party, Party

We started with a slumber party complete with facial masks, manicures and pedicures. Darci had two friends, Janie and Brittany spend the night. They had fun until almost 1am until the mean, crazy, exhausted, pregnant mother came downstairs yelling like a crazy woman. :) The boys slept downstairs as well, so a good time was had by all!!
Today we all had a really good time at the pool. The weather was absolutely perfect. Alan baked Darci a two layer confetti cake and we had frozen fruit as well. Lots of pineapple, grapes, and oranges. We ended up having about 10 kids come to the party, which was perfect. And we pretty much had the whole pool to ourselves. I was so glad to have family there as well. Thank you Lisa for bringing Jack, Ben and Katie and thank you John and Leah for bringing Natalie and Abigail!

Thank you Leah for showing us how to download music to Darci's mp3 player! She is so excited!
And to think, we get to do this all over for Taylor's birthday in a few weeks!

Nine Year Olds

When did bikes quit being the best present ever? Darci was taken to Wal-mart today to pick out her birthday present. Alan and I had in mind to get her a Hannah Montana bike. Well, Darci had a different idea. Even though she already has one, she had to have a new more improved mp3 player. Bike versus electronics? When the latter start winning? Darci also received perfume, lotion, bath gel and a gift certificate to Dilliards from her Pops and MeMe. When did she grow up to love presents that I would love? I guess it is good that we are having another baby, or all of this would be so bittersweet.
Darci is having a few girls spend the night tomorrow night and then having a pool party on Sat. And once again, my wonderful husband has gotten everything all set. What other man could get plates, napkins, cake mix, drinks, fruit, etc...for a girls party and not forget anything. He is also going to make the cake! I just have to come home from work and entertain the girls. I am sure I will have lots of fun pictures to share this weekend!!

Day One

Day one of school was a success for all. Everyone loves their teachers! Above are some pictures from this morning. Notice no pictures of Taylor in his classroom. He would have died from embarassment this morning had we walked in!

Bedtime

The kids excited about the first day of school in the morning. Will they sleep???

School Days

It is the night before the first day of school. I think that I get more excited and anxious than the kids do. We had open house today and I feel so much better about tomorrow. Hunter has a great teacher. The first thing she did was hug him and I liked her immediately. She also has four goldfish and two gerbils, so she is a hit with Hunter as well. Of course with Darci and Taylor being older, they didn't need me as much. (very sad mommy face) I can't believe that we will have a first, fourth and fifth grader. I feel so old.
Just have to tell you a little about my wonderful husband. The ladies at work get sick of hearing about all the great things he does, so now you have to hear also. Monday night laying in bed, my stomach was growling because I couldn't stomach much dinner and I made the comment, I would love a hamburger. Well, Alan gets out of the bed, gets dressed and goes to get me three cheese Krystals. Yum! Just what this pregnant lady needed at 10:00 at night. The next morning he gets up and fixes me homemade waffles and bacon. Yummy as well, but morning sickness decided to show up in the middle of breakfast. So this morning, I had a peanut butter bagel waiting on me. He also has dinner ready for me every night when I get home from work! Isn't he every woman's dream??
As I do most school nights, I will be going to bed when the kids do, so good night! I will try to post some first day of school pictures tomorrow.

New Project

Well, sitting here bored on a Sunday afternoon, I decided to start a blog. I enjoy reading others blogs thinking oh how more exciting their lives are then mine! But getting ready to have my third child to add to our already household of five, I figured maybe my family would be interested in the goings on of our lives. I am absolutely terrible about creating all those wonderful memories for my children to look back on. Hopefully this will be a start. I have saved some of the items of my children and taken pictures (which all still live on my computer), but have not done anything significant for them. Perhaps it stems from the fact that I do not seem to retain much from my past. Or maybe to sound more profound, it is because I live each day to the fullest and never look back. HA! It is really because I happen to be the laziest person alive. I also happen to be the luckiest. I have the most wonderful husband in the world, an absolutely precious step-son, a beautiful daughter and an incredible son. And to add to my blessings, we will be having another in March.
Our weekend has been slow and quiet. All the children are with their other parents this weekend. I really treasure the time with my husband, but it is also lonely. We did though get to spend some time with my daughter Darci on Saturday. It was her ninth birthday and we took her to see Space Chimps at the Monaco and then for a carousel ride. It amazes me everyday to watch her grow. She has such a sweet soul. I am looking forward to all of them coming back home. And then I will be wishing for the quiet house again!
Just a start for today. I plan on posting some pictures within the next week, so please check back.
